Dave Clement
Co-Producer, Co-Director, Cinematographer, Editor
Founder of Thunderstone Pictures Inc., Dave is a natural scientist, activist and teacher, turned filmmaker. He has directed several acclaimed drama and documentary films including Seeking Bimaadiziiwin, The Remnant, Borealis and As Long As the Rivers Flow: Story of the Grassy Narrows Blockade. He also Produced and Directed a National Film Board/Thunderstone Pictures co-production called "Woodland Spirits", made in association with TVOntario. He is an award-winning cinematographer who often shoots his own material or works with other filmmakers using either motion picture film or HD.
His films tend to deal with the relationships between humans, their environment and the institutions that govern this interaction. Issues concerning First Nations people have become Dave's focus over the years for a growing number of reasons. Through vivid cinematography and filming in rugged locations, Dave is quickly establishing himself as one of Canada's truly northern filmmakers.
Dave has taught a courses in "Non-fiction Film Production" in the Confederation College Film Production Program and in Physical Geography and Mapping at Lakehead University.
